Upon arrival in Sri Lanka, you will be greeted by our representative and transferred to Kandy. En route, visit the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage, located approximately 55 miles from Colombo. This sanctuary, established in 1975, is home to over 65 elephants, including several calves born through its captive breeding program. The best time to visit is during their bathing hours, where visitors can witness the elephants being led to the nearby river. Continue your journey to Kandy and check in to the hotel. After breakfast, begin a city tour of Kandy, the last royal capital of Sri Lanka. Visit the Upper Lake Drive, Market Square, and the famed Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic, which houses Sri Lanka’s most venerated relic of the Buddha. Continue to the Royal Botanical Gardens in Peradeniya, spread across 147 acres with over 5,000 species of flora, including rare orchids and exotic trees. After breakfast, check out and travel to Nuwara Eliya. En route, visit a scenic tea plantation and tea factory to learn about the tea-making process and enjoy fresh Ceylon tea. Following breakfast, explore the picturesque town of Nuwara Eliya, often called "Little England" for its colonial architecture and temperate climate. Visit Victoria Park, known for its floral displays and birdlife. Proceed to the Sita Amman Temple, which marks the legendary site where Sita was held captive by King Ravana. Located near a flowing stream, the temple is believed to be the only one in the world dedicated to Sita. Return to the hotel. Overnight stay in Nuwara Eliya.
